Our health and wellness ministries include two full-service acute care hospitals and a nationally renowned health and wellness center. Each is a leader and offers state-of-the-art care, but each also is an integral part of the community it serves -- reaching out with missionary zeal to bring its resources to the under - served in the community.

Emanuel Medical Center

Emanuel Medical Center is a respected regional health care center in Turlock, Calif. The acute care community hospital uses a family-oriented approach in all of its health care specialties.

This dedication to family has spurred the development of a variety of programs and services for the young and old. The hospital takes its services beyond its doors, effectively bringing the community a hospital without walls. Thanks to Emanuel, maternal and child services, senior services, home health and hospice are fully integrated into the local community.

Galter Life Center

The road to spiritual and physical wellness can be long. It takes discipline, dedication, knowledge and a guiding hand. Members of Galter LifeCenter, located in Chicago, know this. And they know the "miracles" Galter LifeCenter can help them perform.

For more than 10 years, Galter LifeCenter has been partnering with the community and Swedish Covenant Hospital to promote and teach wellness. The interdisciplinary health and fitness center offers a medically directed fitness program complemented by nutrition counseling, lessons, lectures and special interest classes.

The center is home to Swedish Covenant Hospital's nationally-recognized cardiac rehabilitation program, and provides educational classes and exercise routines for people with lung problems, diabetes and arthritis.

Swedish Covenant Hospital

Swedish Covenant Hospital, located in Chicago, believes in treating the whole person. This state-of-the-art acute care hospital uses the latest technologies in diagnosis and treatment, but it also uses the oldest--simple person-to-person concern.

As a community resource, Swedish Covenant Hospital makes a difference in the lives of people who cannot always enter its door. Parish nurses extend medical services into the community and provide loving and practical care to children and adults at various shelters. By providing screening and wellness programs in a variety of languages, the hospital meets the needs of a Chicago neighborhood where residents speak more than 50 languages.
